Action!

Standard

My name is Jerry Zinn, and I wanted to let you know a little bit about me and what you will be seeing on The Written Reel. I am a classic film fanatic. I first started to have an interest in classic film about a year and a half ago, and my enthusiasm continues to increase by the day. To date, I have watched over 260 films that fall under my definition of “classic.” My collection of classic films contains over 400 DVDs and VHSs. I avidly watch Turner Classic Movies, which is, in my opinion, by far the best place to watch classic movies. That’s enough about me; let’s talk about you! … Just kidding, now I want to tell you about The Written Reel. First of all, I’d like to explain the title. The words “The” and “Written” should be pretty self-explanatory (if not, refer to dictionary). However, for those who do not know, a “Reel” is what film has been traditionally stored in. Reels of film refer to the film’s negatives. For this site, when I watch a classic movie that I find particularly interesting and compelling, I will write a review/analysis/opinion of it. My hope is that in doing so, those who read my posts will be inspired to watch the films. All I ask, is that you approach this site with an open mind and that you give classic films a chance! They really are something special.

This is a film reel
